Chet Tharpe Jr., M.D
Chet Tharpe Jr., M.D. is proud to say he is a native Floridian and a loyal Gator. He grew up in Brandon, Florida and attended the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition in 2005. He went on to earn his medical degree from St. George’s University in 2009. After graduating, Chet completed his residency in Internal Medicine at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where he earned many accolades including Intern of The Year, Emergency Medicine Consultant of the Year and the In-Training Exam Award given to the internal medicine resident with the highest percentile score over the three years. Following the completion of residency in 2012 he was honored to serve as a Chief Medical Resident and became board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. During this time he also worked as a hospitalist and attending physician, teaching medical residents and students and was named the Attending Physician of the Year. After his chief residency, Chet stayed at the University of Mississippi to complete his Allergy/Immunology fellowship. His interests include asthma, allergic rhinitis and allergic skin disorders. Chet believes in providing compassionate care to his patients while spending extra time listening, teaching and answering their questions. He believes in continuously learning and staying up to date with the latest in allergy and immunology.
Chet is married to Molly and they have a one year old daughter—Amelia Lucia “Lucy” and a 2 year old lab, named “Doc.” In his free time, he loves fishing, kayaking, reading, live music and all Gator sports.
